Research Field and Overview:
RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research aims at revealing underpinnings behind complex living systems by bridging biological scales and temporal dynamics. Toward this goal, our research team aims to realize so-called AI-driven life science by combining model-driven and data-driven approaches with the power of advanced information technology and robotics. More specifically, the team focuses on the following three research areas: (1) development and application of robotics and information technology for laboratory automation, (2) research and development of AI for scientific discovery, and (3) cell modeling and simulation.

Open Positions:
Senior Research Scientist: 1 position

Job description:
This position is open to individuals who will work in our research team to develop and apply information technology and robotics to advance life science research. The successful candidate should have a strong background in interdisciplinary approaches between molecular cell biology, engineering and information science, and will take part in the development of laboratory automation technology, and will use these technologies to generate new scientific discoveries in such research areas as, but not limited to, cell culture and multi-omics analysis. The successful candidate is expected to conduct research and development on topics specified above, to contribute to the management of the laboratory and to assist the laboratory head.

Qualification:
Doctoral degree (or equivalent research ability and background) in the relevant research field.

RIKEN Kobe Campus (6-7-1, Minatojima-minamimachi, Chuo-ku, Hyogo 650-0047)
