Job title：Research Associate

Affiliation：Functional Materials Group (Hayashi Laboratory), The Institute for Solid State Physics (ISSP), The University of Tokyo (UTokyo).

Job description and responsibilities: The Institute for Solid State Physics is seeking applications from highly-motivated researchers who will collaborate with Prof. Hayashi and develop biophysical research using data-driven science. Candidates should possess experience in data-driven science research using Bayesian estimation or other machine learning. The successful candidate will also be expected to actively supervise graduate students and promote international collaborative research. Previous research experience in the biological field is not required. Applications from women and international candidates are highly encouraged.

Qualifications and requirements: The candidate must hold a Ph.D. or an equivalent degree, or be on track to earn one before the start date.

Start date: As soon as possible following the receipt of a job offer.

Duration of appointment: The initial appointment is for five years, and is extended for five more years if the performance is satisfactory.
